Legal & Compliance Consultant (IT & Data Protection)

As a Legal & Compliance Consultant (IT & Data Protection), you will:

  • Play a crucial role in ensuring that the company remains compliant with UK and international laws, particularly in IT, data protection, and contract management.
  • Provide legal guidance on IT services, cloud governance, data security, and corporate contracts, helping to mitigate risks and ensure seamless business operations.
  • Ensure company policies, IT operations, and data management practices align with UK data protection laws (UK GDPR), international trade regulations, and IT governance frameworks.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts related to IT services, software licensing, cloud agreements, and vendor partnerships.
  • Conduct legal risk assessments for cloud migration, SaaS, PaaS, and other IT-related projects.
  • Provide legal insights into office leasing, commercial property transactions, and contract negotiations.
  • Assist in employment law matters, compliance training, and company policies related to intellectual property, cybersecurity, and IT consulting agreements.
  • Work closely with clients on legal documentation and compliance requirements for IT solutions.

We are looking for experience in the following skills:

  • LLM in Law or equivalent.
  • Legal internship or experience in commercial law, IT law, or property law.
  • Strong understanding of IT contracts, data protection regulations (UK GDPR, Data Protection Act), and intellectual property law.
  • Experience in title investigation and commercial lease agreements.
  • Ability to conduct legal research and provide regulatory advice.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good problem solving, analytical capabilities and communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Prior experience in a law firm, IT consulting firm, or corporate legal department.
  • Familiarity with legal compliance in IT infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity.
  • Experience assisting with commercial lease agreements and rent adjustments.
